Texas A&M University

Postdoctoral Fellows

IAMCS will recruit four postdoctoral fellows each year.

IAMCS has developed an extensive postdoctoral fellow program to encourage postdocs' potential to greatly enhance collaboration between KAUST and IAMCS.

Each year, IAMCS research teams are invited to submit small proposals to request the hiring of a postdoctoral fellow for their team. The proposals must discuss the research mission envisioned for the postdoctoral fellows, the relevance of that mission to IAMCS, and the opportunities for collaboration with KAUST. The Executive Committee awards four new postdoctoral fellow positions each year.

While the postdoctoral fellows have extensive and continual interactions with KAUST faculty and students through IAMCS's varied research activities (workshops, short courses, biannual symposia, etc.), the heart of the postdoctoral fellows' interactions with KAUST is collaborative research. It is expected that each fellow will develop interdisciplinary research collaborations involving core IAMCS members, KAUST faculty and students, and as well as with IAMCS's many affiliated partners, both academic and industrial. These collaborations are sustained through cyber-enabled interactions and supplemented by face-to-face meetings at IAMCS activities conducted at both Texas A&M and KAUST.
