My laboratory in interested in understanding the molecular, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying phenotypic variation and disease. We use multifaceted genetic, molecular and cell biological tools as well as genetically engineered model organisms and domestic animal models to understand the interplay between genetics, epigenetics and gene regulation.
We further investigate how each modulates phenotypes in some situations and causes disease in others. There are two major areas of research interest in our laboratory. First, we are investigating the epigenetic mechanisms regulating genomic imprinting, including diseases and phenotypes associated with imprinted genes. Second, we are investigating genomic structural variants and their role in phenotypic variation and disease.
